1. The service
Draw2Life (“Draw2Life,” “we,” “us”) is a web app that turns a colored paper drawing into an animated creature that swims into a shared scene on any screen. A host creates a room, prints coloring templates, and shares a room link or QR code. Guests open that link on a phone, point the camera at a finished drawing, and the artwork appears on a display (a TV, projector, laptop, or tablet running a browser).
Everything runs in the browser. There is no app to install. The camera frame is processed on the guest’s own device, and only the flat, cut-out drawing is sent to us — see our Privacy Policy for details.
2. Accounts and host responsibilities
To host a room you create an account with an email address. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity in rooms you create. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter into a binding contract to host an event.
You run the event. Guests scan anonymously and never create accounts. As the host you are the adult responsible for your event: for choosing where the display is shown, for the people you invite to participate, and for moderating what appears on screen using the tools we provide.
Children’s use
Draw2Life is designed for children’s drawings, but it is operated by adult hosts. Children participate only as guests under the supervision of the host (a parent, teacher, librarian, or venue staff member). If you host an event involving children, you confirm you have the authority and any necessary permission to do so, and you agree to supervise their participation. We do not knowingly create host accounts for anyone under 18.
3. Acceptable use
A public display plus anonymous input is a target for abuse. You agree not to use Draw2Life to submit, display, or encourage:
- Drawings or names that are abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a family event;
- Written profanity or explicit imagery within a drawing;
- Content that infringes someone else’s rights, or that is unlawful, threatening, or deceptive;
- Any attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other rooms.
Moderation. Every room runs one of three moderation modes. In manual mode (the default we recommend for schools) each scan lands in your approval queue and a creature only appears after you approve it. In auto mode each drawing passes an automated image-moderation check before it can appear; anything not confidently cleared is held for your review. Off mode is available only on Pro for trusted, staffed settings. In every mode, submitted names are run through a profanity filter, and you have a one-tap kill switch to remove any creature from the display instantly.
Automated moderation is a safeguard, not a guarantee. The host is ultimately responsible for what is shown on their display, and we may remove content or suspend a room that violates these Terms.
4. Plans, passes, and billing
Draw2Life offers a free tier, one-time Event Passes, and a Pro subscription. Current plan limits and prices are shown on our pricing page. Prices below are launch figures and may change.
- Free. A real, usable room with a watermark on the display, intended as a trial. No payment required.
- Event Pass. A one-time purchase that grants a single room credit good for one event-length room with no watermark. Passes may be bought singly or in discounted 5-packs; pack credits are stored on your profile and consumed one at a time when you create a room. Because an Event Pass is a one-time digital credit redeemable immediately, passes are non-refundable once purchased, except where a refund is required by law.
- Pro. A recurring subscription (currently $29 per month) that keeps rooms live while you are subscribed and unlocks higher limits and your own branding. You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal; cancellation stops future renewals and your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial periods unless required by law.
Payments and tax. Payments are processed by Stripe through Stripe-hosted Checkout. We never see or store your full card details. Applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated and collected via Stripe Tax based on your location.
Price changes. Plans, limits, and prices are launch hypotheses and may change over time. For subscriptions, we will give reasonable notice of any price change, which will take effect on a subsequent billing period; continuing to use Pro after a change means you accept the new price.
Education pricing. Discounted Pro pricing may be offered to verified schools and educators, handled manually. Contact support@draw2life.com to ask.
5. Your content
Hosts and guests keep ownership of the drawings they create. By submitting a drawing to a room you grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that cutout for the purpose of running the room — for example, building the animated creature and showing it on the display. To make the live shared scene work, creature documents and cutout images are stored with public read access using random identifiers. Rooms and their content expire automatically, and a host can purge a room’s content instantly; see the Privacy Policy.
6. Disclaimers
Draw2Life is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scanning, moderation, or the display will work flawlessly on every device, browser, camera, or network. The service depends on third parties (including your own hardware and internet connection, and providers such as Stripe and our hosting platform) that we do not control.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Draw2Life and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim or USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
8. Termination
You may stop using Draw2Life at any time and cancel a Pro subscription through the Stripe customer portal. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or create risk for other users — for example, by repeatedly submitting prohibited content. On termination, your rooms and their content are removed under our normal expiry and cleanup process.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date below and, where appropriate, notify hosts. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be confirmed before launch], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and any disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction. This placeholder will be finalized with legal review.
